Medical Transcriptionist Salaries
August 30th, 2010I thought I would say a few words about the current state of medical transcription salaries. The field has long been popular as a legitimate way to work from home. It sounds like a dream come true for parents with small children who want to be able to spend more time with their family. Training opportunities are now freely available online, easing the way for people who cannot find the time to attend a traditional school or have no local program nearby. However, it is difficult to find accurate information regarding salaries.
Quote of the Day
April 27th, 2010“When life demands more of people than they demand of life, as is ordinarily the case, what results is a resentment of life almost as deep-seated as the fear of death.”
Tom Robbins-American novelist.
Quote of the Day.
April 24th, 2010The fact is that censorship always defeats its own purpose, for it creates, in the end, the kind of society that is incapable of exercising real discretion.
Henry Steele Commager.
The contract is up in 2013. Start your own production company. They are cowards.
Thank You For Remembering Me!
April 1st, 2010We all have a litany of complaints about the doctors we transcribe for; the mumblers, the whisperers, the repeaters (not the good kind, I’m talking about the ones who repeat the same information within the same paragraph), the speed talkers and the back uppers.
I wanted to take the time today and count as a blessing another group of doctors. No, it is not the perfect dictators that are clear, concise and easy. I am talking about the ones who remember that a live human being is transcribing their reports. They are the ones that ask how you are before beginning to dictate, the ones who make little jokes, the ones who wish us a good day or hope we have a Happy Holiday and the ones who make fun of themselves and apologize when they goof up. They are the ones who always thank us when they finish dictating.
To all of the doctors who make me smile and remember that I am alive, I want to say thank you. You make my day a little brighter. ![]()
Thank You!
Alice in Wonderland
March 22nd, 2010This weekend I took my daughter and one of her friends to see Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.” I have yet to see a Tim Burton film I did not like, starting with “James and the Giant Peach.” This one did not change that opinion. This is a 3-D film.
