Reading for Fun
I read a lot. I mean I spend a great deal of my time reading. I include in this time spent reading on the internet, which is mostly reading for information. There are times when this is fun. However, that is not the true definition of reading for fun for me personally. There are several authors that I read on a regular basis. These all qualify as “fun” reading for me.

As you may know if you read this, I also really like to read classic children’s books for fun. Some of them I have read many times over. That doesn’t curb my enjoyment of these books one bit. Take the “Little House” series. I read the entire series at least once a year. It doesn’t take long to finish it and I just have a big stupid grin on my face most of the time while I am reading. Well, except during the sad parts, that is.
The point is whatever trips your trigger. If you liked comic books when you were little, go out a buy one. Be warned though, they are a lot more expensive then they used to be and may contain adult subject matter. If you are looking for some time spent in the way back machine, you might want to pick up some Richie Rich comics at the flea market instead.
My Dear Husband rarely reads fiction. I suspect it bores him. Instead for enjoyment he usually reads programming manuals and such as that. For those of you who may not be familiar with these tomes, they are usually about 5 inches thick and I am not usually able to tell from the title what the thing is about anyway. I could not possibly read these for fun. I could read these to become confused.
However, this brings us back to the subject of reading for information. This can indeed be both informative and fun when you are reading to learn something about a subject you are truly interested in. If you pick up a hobby that brings you a smile when you are participating in it, that is fun. In fact, the reading for fun carried over and now you can have more fun. Well, at least if you can find the time to add a hobby. That is a whole other subject though.
Another problem is finding the time to read for enjoyment. There is one place in everyone’s house that can be put into use for reading for enjoyment and you will be guaranteed at least a few minutes of privacy. You know the one I mean. Leave a book there. It may take you a long time to finish it, but since you are in there anyway…
